Inventory Locations

Efficient inventory management is essential for any business handling stock. Manager.io provides comprehensive tools to track and manage inventory across multiple locations, such as warehouses, stores, or specific storage areas. This guide explains how to configure and use inventory locations in Manager.io.

What Are Inventory Locations?

Inventory Locations allow you to record where your inventory is physically stored or moved within your business. This is especially useful for businesses with multiple sites or designated storage areas, making inventory tracking precise and organized.

Setting the Default Inventory Location

The Default Inventory Location is the primary storage location assigned to all inventory items unless otherwise specified. Setting this default ensures all new inventory transactions automatically apply to your chosen location, streamlining your workflow.

See: Default Inventory Location for step-by-step configuration.

Managing Custom Inventory Locations

Customizing inventory locations gives you total control over where your items are kept and how stock moves between various physical spaces. To manage locations:

  • Go to the Settings tab.
  • Select Inventory Locations.

Within this section, you can:

  • Add New Locations: Designate new warehouses, stores, or storage areas as inventory sites.
  • Edit Existing Locations: Update location names or details as your business evolves.
  • Deactivate Locations: Disable locations you no longer use, keeping your records current without deleting historical data.

See: Custom Inventory Locations for detailed management instructions.

Benefits of Inventory Locations

  • Accurate Stock Levels: Track item quantities at each location individually.
  • Organized Stock Movements: Monitor transfers and sales from specific sites.
  • Flexible Business Operations: Easily adapt to business growth or reorganization by adding or modifying locations.

By utilizing Inventory Locations, Manager.io helps you maintain accurate and up-to-date stock information across every part of your business, ensuring effective inventory control and reporting.
