Lock Date

Overview

The Lock Date feature in Manager.io is a useful control tool that helps protect the integrity of your financial records. Once enabled, it prevents any edits to transactions on or before the specified date, ensuring that finalized financial periods remain unchanged.

Accessing the Lock Date

1. Go to the Settings tab in Manager.io.
2. Locate and select Lock Date from the list of available options.

Setting the Lock Date

• Enter the desired lock date in the provided field.
• Click Update to apply the lock.

Lock Date Behavior

• Transactions on or before the lock date cannot be edited. This measure protects your finalized accounts from accidental or unauthorized changes.
• Minor Adjustments Allowed: You can still perform small adjustments to these locked transactions, but only if those changes do not affect the amounts reported on your financial statements.

Best Practices

• Use the Lock Date after closing monthly, quarterly, or annual accounts to prevent changes to prior periods.
• Only allow trusted users access to the Lock Date setting to maintain data integrity.
