Rebrand the desktop edition (Windows)

Rebrand and customize our accounting software so it’s fully aligned with your own style and brand identity. You can change everything from icons and software name to your contact details:

  • Rename the product
  • Use your icons (main and tray)
  • Put in your contact details
  • Provide a link to your website

Example
Northwind Association is a business association helping small businesses to maintain proper accounting records. They want to offer an accounting software called “Northwind Accounting” to their members.

Download the source package for Windows

The first step is to visit the Manager Download page and download Source package for Windows by clicking on the button:

Source package contains Manager installation files. Unzip the files into some folder:

Edit display information

In this folder, you should open and edit 2 files:

  • Users.html
  • Suppport.html

Users.html contains HTML code defining what will be shown to your users when they click on the Users tab.

Support.html contains HTML code defining what will be shown to your users when they click on the Support tab. For example, you might want to show your own contact details.

Example
Northwind Association decides to show these details under the Support tab:

Northwind’s HTML in Support.html would contain following markup:

Once you modify your Support.html file, start Manager by opening ManagerDesktop.exe and look under the Support tab to make sure it contains your details.

Create an installer

Manager’s Source package contains file Manager.aip, which you can open using the free edition of Advanced Installer.

The installer package is simple, with just four tabs:

  • Product Details
  • Files and Folders
  • File Associations
  • Builds

Under the Product Details tab, you can change the product name to something else and change website links.

Example
Northwind Association modifies details as shown below:

Next, under the Files and Folders tab, go to Application Folder. Here you don’t need to change anything. However, if you want to hide links to our Guides from within your program, simply delete the Guides.json file from Application Folder.

To change the desktop icon and desktop name, go to Desktop folder under the Files and Folders tab and double-click on Manager. Here you can change the name and set new icon.

Northwind Association changes the program name to “Northwind Accounting” and includes its own icon:

Under the Builds tab you can change MSI name from Manager to your new program name so the installer software will generate your installer with your custom filename.

That is all. You can now click the Build button under the Home tab:

Advanced Installer will generate a new installer with your name, which you can upload somewhere for your users to download. Or you can distribute the installer on any form of portable medium.

Example
Northwind Association renames and builds an installer of its own, NorthwindAccounting.msi.

After installation, the program will be shown on the desktop with your custom icon and software name.

There will be no mention of Manager, and when your users click on the Support tab, they will see your details as previously defined in your Support.html file.
