Capital Accounts
The Capital Accounts tab is specifically designed to track and manage funds contributed by or distributed to business owners and investors.
Creating a Capital Account
To add a new capital account, click the New Capital Account button.

If you are creating a capital account with pre-existing balances, you can establish initial values by clicking on Settings, then navigating to Starting Balances. For detailed instructions, see the Starting Balances — Capital Accounts guide.
Understanding the Capital Accounts Tab Columns
The Capital Accounts tab displays several columns, each providing specific information:
- Code: Displays the account-specific code associated with the capital account.
- Name: Displays the name of the capital account.
- Control account: Shows the name of the control account linked to the capital account. If custom control accounts have not been set up, the default will display as "Capital Accounts".
- Division: Identifies the division associated with this capital account. If divisional accounting is not enabled, this will remain blank.
- Balance: Reflects the combined total of all debits and credits assigned to this capital account. Clicking this figure will display a breakdown of transactions contributing to the balance.
Customizing Column Display
Click Edit columns to select the columns you wish to display.
