Default Inventory Location
Overview
The Default Inventory Location setting in Manager.io specifies the primary location for all inventory items. This location is automatically assigned to inventory transactions when no other specific location is selected.
Purpose
Setting a default inventory location ensures consistent tracking of stock and helps prevent errors or omissions when recording inventory movements.
How It Works
- All new inventory items will be associated with this location unless specified otherwise.
- Transactions—such as purchases and sales—will default to this location when the inventory location field is left blank.
When to Use
- If your organization stores inventory in a primary warehouse or location.
- To streamline data entry by reducing the need to manually specify locations during transactions.
Important Notes
- The default inventory location applies only when no other location is specified.
- You can override the default by selecting a different location during individual transactions.
